Blue Lake Rancheria outlines emergency trainings, worries about shrinking grant funds

Andrew Bogar, emergency manager for Blue Lake Rancheria, briefed the commission on a calendar of preparedness courses the Rancheria will host or promote and said the organization is qualified to teach First Aid/CPR/AED but is still finalizing administrative processes for certificates and a modest fee to cover record keeping.
"As of this month, I have been there in that position for a year," Bogar said, outlining courses including MGT-383 (writing emergency plans, Nov. 12), ICS 400 (Dec. 10–11), MGT-415 (Jan. 22) and ICS 300 (Feb. 10–12). He also warned that many nonprofit trainings depend on grant funding that is "becoming restrained," and said the Rancheria is exploring low-cost course fees to sustain offerings.
