"I personally can't support taking a non conforming lot and making it into 2 non conforming lots," one commissioner said during the discussion. Commissioners noted the application would create two nonconforming lots and runs counter to the ordinance intent for subdivisions; staff also said findings exist in the packet that could support either approval or denial. A motion to deny the variances based on the staff packet findings was moved and seconded; the commission voted in favor and the motion carried.
The denial means the applicant cannot proceed with the administrative subdivision and would need to either withdraw or revise the proposal and resubmit if they wish to pursue different options.
