Jory Daniels, in Administrative Services, introduced a midyear financial briefing and Nancy from finance presented the details: the county received Government Finance Officers Association recognition for financial reporting and budget presentation and reduced its audit findings from 13 to 4 for fiscal year 2024.
Nancy said the county is working under a 5‑year budget plan for 2026–2030 and expanded this year's CIP planning to seven years with a target to transition to a 10‑year capital improvement plan in 2026. She also said the county submitted required financial reports (ACFAR and PAFR) following the completion of the audit and that cross‑training plans are in place to create staff backups for critical functions.
Commissioners thanked the finance team for their work; Nancy said she will begin drafting a long‑term financial plan this fall with a team approach and return with additional details as budgeting continues.
