Commissioners debated the implications—one commissioner emphasized that past practice had been to appoint members from the commissioner’s district and that changing the rule would reduce that accountability. Another commissioner said the adoption included solid-waste and junk-car provisions and improvements in article 12.3 that he supported.
After discussion the board voted to adopt the proposed ordinance revisions as presented. The chair called the voice vote in favor and the revisions were recorded as adopted in the meeting record.
