County engineer outlines road projects timeline; commissioner pushes for bridge funding outreach

County Engineer Tim Bray told the board the combined 14‑mile County Road 2 project is nearing its final stages and should wrap up in the coming weeks. "We're gonna be happy when that that's done, down there," Bray said, adding that crews will begin grade‑raise work on County Road 144 and that the public should expect detours and closures during those improvements.
A commissioner encouraged residents to attend a "Brisket on the Farm" event at Malloy Farm on June 17 to discuss agriculture and local infrastructure concerns. The same commissioner said he has been in talks with state legislators and aides to seek funding to remove and replace a failing bridge on North Coring Road. "I've talked to representative ... Heintzeman ... Senator Wiesenberg ... and a legislative assistant about this," the commissioner said, and urged citizens in the affected townships to attend a joint meeting on June 24.
Bray said the highway program is also planning for roundabout installations and bridge work over the next four years as part of the county’s highway improvement plan and that staff are trying to use an early lull in projects to advance engineering work. "They're gonna be really busy with reconstruction and some roundabout installation and bridge stuff," Bray said.
