Crow Wing County staff presented a land-use map amendment for parcel 57260506 in Section 36 of Daggle Brook Township to change approximately 40 acres from rural residential to commercial-industrial. The Planning Commission had held a public hearing May 15 and recommended approval; staff concurred.
During discussion one commissioner thanked Sarah Barrett and her family for creating a facility that, together with a related location in Little Falls, was said to employ about 400 people. A commissioner moved adoption and another seconded; the board adopted the amendment by voice vote. Staff noted a planning-commission-approved variance was also in the record for a 168-foot grain mill height related to the application.
The change will be reflected on the county land-use map; staff said they would record the amendment in meeting records and the planning packet includes findings of fact and maps for reference.
