District council approves minutes and unanimously waives review or approves multiple site plans (8-0)

The Prince George's County Council, sitting as the district council, opened its Dec. 23, 2024 session, adopted the minutes from Sept. 9, 2024, and then moved through a series of land-use cases that staff and the planning board had previously recommended with conditions.
Madam Clerk called each roll and recorded unanimous results on the motions. As the clerk reported at the meeting, "Motion carries 8 0." The items the council approved or waived review on included DSP 230349 (Lanham/Seabrook drive-through retrofit), SE2022-012 (LOL Childcare Stations at Beltway Plaza), DDS 23002 (1 Leg Up Pets kennel), DET 2023-021 (Willowdale Self Storage), DSP 23009 (Project Turtle in College Park), DSP 23015 (Salubria Center), SDP 080503 (Kenwood Village), and SDP 2301 (Case Urgot).
Most items on the docket were handled by motions to "waive the council's election to review," a procedural step that lets the zoning hearing examiner's or planning board's decision stand, subject to any conditions already imposed. The council announced a separately scheduled oral-argument date and noted a recorded appeal for SDP 2304 Saddle Ridge by a person of record, Mark Calhoun.
The council also announced that the Education and Workforce Development Committee would meet at 1:30 p.m. and adjourned the session.
