At the June 24 meeting the Board established a Nutrition Ad Hoc Committee consisting of trustees Mike Goschka, Joseph McNaughton and James McPhail. The committee was reported to have been formed prior to the meeting when members contacted President Marcia Kendall; the minutes show the committee is intended to focus on nutrition-related issues for the district.
In old business, Athletic Director Ashley Schlager presented research on a proposed weightlifting program and described next steps — surveying student interest and posting the position internally before external recruitment. Trustees also discussed Chromebook screen time and the balance between screen-based learning and teacher-led instruction; Mike Goschka requested further discussion on screen-time policy. Board communications were discussed as an item for future work and several items were listed for upcoming agendas.
