At the June 10 special meeting the Board moved to amend Bylaw 2306 (Board Member Compensation) to authorize pay for attendance at regular, special and ad hoc meetings and to set meeting rates. Board member Mike Goschka moved the amendment and James McPhail seconded; the minutes record the motion as passing 6-1 (Angie Lewis recorded as Nay). The adopted language included: 'Meeting compensation shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per regular or special meeting. The Board President will be paid sixty dollars ($60.00) per regular or special meeting. Board members serving on an ad hoc committee shall be compensated at the rate of fifty dollars ($50.00) for each ad hoc committee meeting attended.'
Shortly afterward, the minutes record a separate motion by Kevin Ritenburg, seconded by Allison Brady, to edit policy 2306 to set the ad hoc committee meeting rate at thirty-five dollars ($35.00). That motion also carried 6-1 (Angie Lewis recorded as Nay). The minutes show both approvals; they do not provide additional explanation reconciling the two recorded actions.
The initial amendment directs the Superintendent or designee to incorporate the adopted language into the Board's bylaws and administrative procedures. The minutes do not specify when those revisions will be published or how the two recorded actions will be reconciled in the official bylaw text.
