Visitors Bureau authorizes up to $100,000 for Lorain County Air & Car Show

The Lorain County Visitors Bureau on Jan. 29 approved up to $100,000 in funding for the Lorain County Air & Car Show scheduled July 11, 2026.
Rob Duncan, director of Lorain County Community Development and mover of the resolution, introduced the motion "to authorize up to $100,000 expenditure for the Lorain County Air & Car Show on July 11, 2026." The motion, seconded by Commissioner David J. Moore, passed with Duncan, Moore, Brenda Phillips and Brad Mullins voting yes; Ron Billings was absent.
Director Garry Gibbs had asked the board for increased support for the event, noting that last year the Discover Aviation show cost the bureau about $60,000 and that this year he is planning additional attractions, including airplane stunts and volunteer coordination. The approved authorization allows the bureau flexibility to cover event costs and to work with promoters on sponsorship levels and deliverables.
The board recorded the action as RESOLUTION NO.VB-26-1; payments or reimbursements will follow the bureau's standard invoicing procedures.
