Commissioners authorize $47,491.29 payment to Genesis House from domestic-violence fund

The Lorain County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution No. 26-96 to pay $47,491.29 from the Victims of Domestic Violence fund to Lorain County Safe Harbor, Inc. (DBA Genesis House). The funds, collected through fees for marriage licenses, divorces, dissolutions and annulments during Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025, were distributed under Ohio statutes cited in the resolution.
The resolution states the payment will be made from account 2820.0000.500.000.06.7300.7300 and that the organization receiving the funds provides services to victims in Lorain County. Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt the payment.
