Emergency manager updates board on SnoDrift planning and full-scale exercise

Sarah Melching, Montmorency County Emergency Manager, told commissioners the county is coordinating SnoDrift Rally planning, securing MPSCS event channels and 800 MHz radios, and working with the National Weather Service for event support. She also reported ongoing cold-weather preparedness and that one generator remains for pickup under a MEDC grant for senior centers.
Melching said planners are conducting multi-agency coordination for a full-scale exercise called "Northern Exposure" slated for the first week of June, including meetings with the National Guard and neighboring counties. She noted training, radio checks, shelter training with the Red Cross and other preparedness activities are ongoing.
