Xtandi review to include separate public therapeutic summary, staff say

Staff told the board the Xtandi affordability review will include a separate therapeutic summary (public) that covers medical literature and guidelines; proprietary pricing inputs remain confidential and will be reviewed in executive session.
Marina Suzuki outlined the Xtandi public report and said staff prepared a separate therapeutic summary document that focuses on medical evidence and guideline-based therapeutic alternatives. She said that therapeutic summary is fully public and will accompany the redacted affordability report when posted.
Staff noted the Xtandi public sections follow the same structure as other reports (background, efficacy/safety, patient-cost tables), but the therapeutic-summary document contains a more extensive clinical review that staff will publish without redactions. They reported limited patient survey responses (six) and a larger set of expert responses (12) for the Xtandi review.
Members asked staff to review trend graphs carefully and to be mindful that year-to-year data volatility may reflect changing insurance-plan compositions and patient counts rather than consistent price movement. The board will examine confidential pricing inputs in executive session before making any determination about selecting Xtandi for affordability actions.
