Architect Tony Esson had recommended a limited test program—three small areas in the shallow end treated with plaster, barrier coat and a microglass penetrant—using a $4,500 allowance built into the bid to evaluate which treatment is most effective before undertaking larger work. Board members stressed that testing and repairs should be completed before the start of the swim season or during the off season to avoid lost access.
The bid award motion (Abraham/Biermann) carried unanimously. The action follows the facilities review presented in the superintendent’s report and the architect’s recommendation earlier in the meeting.
