Police report traffic enforcement and outreach; Fire Department schedules open house Oct. 4
Summary

Chief Thomas delivered the police department's activity report to the board, noting 1,184 calls for service since the Aug. 26 meeting. The department recorded 198 traffic stops, 12 arrests, 15 guns recovered, 467 building checks, 17 domestic incidents and 66 ordinance violations. The department also publicized outreach events: National Coffee with a Cop on Oct. 1 at Dunkin' (9–11 a.m.) and a child car seat inspection event at Children's Place this Thursday from 3–6 p.m.
Fire Chief LaShaun Alston provided an incident summary for the department (103 total calls including 72 ambulance calls) and promoted an Open House on Oct. 4 from 12–4 p.m. at 3107 Glenwood‑Dyer Road with demonstrations, station tours and car seat inspections.
