The council unanimously moved to appoint Kavi Rana to the VMCC board of directors. The candidate introduced herself, saying she immigrated from Nepal about 20 years ago, runs a small family curry/tea shop on the island and leads community sewing and skill‑sharing activities.
"I immigrated from Nepal 20 years ago, and I've lived on the island since then," Rana said in brief remarks. The board formally moved and seconded the appointment and the chair announced there were no votes in opposition. Members welcomed Rana and thanked her for volunteering to serve on the board. The appointment was recorded as an official board action during the meeting.
