After All Stars drops services, district scrambles to secure before/after and summer options

The superintendent said she immediately contacted a possible replacement vendor (Champions/KidCare), met with representatives and believes Champions can provide before/after and Friday programs next year and may be able to help with summer programming. "They are sending us the information to see what we can do," the superintendent said, and administration said it is hopeful but cautious about timelines and cost.
Board members asked about the contracted notice period and whether the district could operate a district‑based program. Administration said the All Stars contract allowed a 30‑day termination window and noted a district‑run summer program would be cost‑ and time‑intensive to develop; a vendor model would bring curriculum, staffing and materials and could be more feasible if a provider can commit quickly.
District staff said they would keep the board updated and negotiate possible transitions with outside vendors while assessing budget and operational implications.
