Superintendent Dr. Chanel Segura and board members recognized Pablo Roybal Elementary, Delaney Intermediate, Pojoaque Valley Middle and High School students of the month, several student athletes and district support staff member Ray Baca for April contributions. "We are so proud of Gael and the wonderful example he sets for his peers," Segura said when introducing Pablo Roybal's nominee.
Student council officers shared a slideshow of end‑of‑year activities — senior awards, banquets, senior sunset, senior walk and graduation — and described teacher appreciation week plans (class‑based gifts all week). A student organizer said the student council is hosting a public blood drive on April 28 and has a goal of 45 donations; organizers reported 43 signups so far and described incentives for student participation tied to graduation cords.
Board members thanked students for speaking to the board and noted the importance of student voice in district planning. The board used this portion of the agenda for recognitions and brief Q&A with student leaders.
