New Vashon Maury Community Council board elected; inspectors report 181 ballots of 772 eligible voters

Sue Gardner, inspector for the elections committee, presented the official election inspection and results at the Nov. 21 meeting. "There were 3 of us that were inspectors of this election," she said, and reported that election procedures followed RCW requirements for nonprofit board elections. Of 772 eligible voters, 181 ballots were submitted; the slate on the ballot was elected and every candidate received at least 68% approval.
Gardner named the new board members the committee certified: Anne Thorne, Jessica Anacker, Nicole Bridal Ein (transcript spelling), Rick Schramm, Steve Norris and Sue Hapakowski. The new board members will begin two-year terms on Dec. 1, 2024, and the outgoing president asked members to support the smaller incoming board as they transition.
The inspector noted the process included verification that all electronic and paper ballots were cast by members on the voter list and that one ballot was undeliverable and is being followed up. The committee reported that blank paper ballots that were not submitted were destroyed per procedure.
Council members thanked the elections committee for running and reporting the process; the results were accepted and the slate declared elected.
