Douglass Township accepts three LSA grants for road and police equipment totaling $542,306

The Douglass Township Board of Supervisors unanimously approved three LSA grant resolutions at its Oct. 6 meeting to fund capital equipment purchases for public works and the police department. Manager Andrew Duncan presented the resolutions and the Board adopted them by voice vote. The adopted grants are: Resolution No. 10062025-01 — $183,450 for an asphalt roller; Resolution No. 10062025-02 — $84,527.35 for a Chevy Tahoe police vehicle; and Resolution No. 10062025-03 — $274,328.60 for a tandem-axle dump truck and upfittings. Each resolution passed with Bergstresser-Aye, Stouch-Aye, Carpenter-Aye.
The grant-funded purchases are intended to support road maintenance and fleet replacement. The Board did not discuss vendor selection or delivery timelines in detail at the Oct. 6 meeting; staff will provide procurement and implementation details at a later date when available.
