Planning Agency backs variance to allow shared driveway at 330 Gilbertsville Road

The Douglass Township Planning Agency voted to support a requested variance to allow a shared common driveway to serve lots 2, 3 and 4 of the proposed 330 Gilbertsville Road subdivision. The motion, made by Mike Heydt and seconded by Ed Reitz, passed with a 3–2 tally: Rick-Nay, Heydt-Aye, Reitz-Aye, Carpenter-Aye, Stouch-Nay.
RoHo Construction was represented by Mr. Machamer of HNT Engineering, who told the Agency that access easements will be provided for the three lots and that the driveway location provides maximum sight distance and is intended to meet Township and PennDOT standards. Agency members emphasized the variance was narrowly for permitting a shared driveway; it did not constitute approval of the overall subdivision plan.
