The commission heard an update on a planned dredging operation that affects Depoe Bay navigation and staging. Commission member (speaker 2), quoting the project manager, said mobilization is scheduled for early December 2026 and dredging will continue into February 2027; a later mobilization date of February 4, 2027, was also mentioned for staging activities.
"We are currently scheduled to mobilize in Eagle Bay early December 12 4 20 26, and we would be there dredging until February 2027 with the mobilization starting on 02/04/2027," the commissioner relayed. Commissioners said they will coordinate with the Army Corps on staging and notify harbor users when plans are firmed up.
Why it matters: Dredging influences vessel access, staging, and local operations during mobilization. The commission will follow up with the Corps and schedule stakeholder briefings nearer the mobilization date.
