Fire department: 152 incidents in reporting period; ambulance calls predominate

Fire Chief LaShaun Alston reported 152 total incidents during the period, of which 104 were ambulance calls. The department also logged one building fire, two cooking fires, one passenger-vehicle fire, multiple carbon-monoxide incidents and six false alarms. Chief Alston's report emphasized that ambulance responses continue to be the largest portion of the department's workload.
The report was entered into the Board record; no new staffing or budget requests were presented during the meeting.
