Department heads brief council on operations, including public transit and utilities

At the April 2 strategic planning meeting department heads from fire, community development, electric, airport, culture & leisure, police, human resources (including public transit) and public works each provided operational overviews to the council.
Co Interim City Manager Shoemaker opened the floor for department head reports at the start of the council's strategic planning meeting. Presenters included Community Development Director Kusek, Electric Superintendent Bridge, Airport Director Placek, Co Interim City Manager/Culture & Leisure Director Brown, Police Chief Leavitt, Human Resources Director Mayhew (who addressed public transit) and the Public Works Director.
Each department provided an overview of operations to help council members align departmental priorities with the council's strategic goals. Human Resources Director Mayhew specifically included public-transit matters in the department's briefing; no staffing or budget actions were taken during the meeting.
