The Alliance City Council approved a multi-item consent calendar on March 17 that included several capital purchases and donations.
The council awarded a $50,018.17 contract to Snyder Refuse for 36 refuse containers and 35 roll-out carts and awarded the Airport Terminal Window Replacement project to Chadron Glass & Window at $60,700, with a $10,700 transfer to cover the full cost. The council also accepted the Certificate of Completion for the Seal Coat Runway 12/30 and Runway 8/26 Project. The Women's Golf Association agreed to donate replacement of the View Golf Course entrance sign, valued at approximately $5,000. Separately, the council accepted a $60,000 donation from First Christian Church for accessible playground surfacing at Central Park and reallocated $25,000 from trail funding to cover a change order of $84,835.50 for a four-inch concrete pad and PlayBound poured-in-place surfacing.
Finance Director Baker and Interim City Managers Shoemaker and Brown reviewed and confirmed these expenditures were within budgeted appropriations to date. The consent calendar, moved by Councilman Yates and seconded by Vice Mayor Mashburn, passed on a 5-0 roll call vote.
