Tractor Supply manager tells Rangely council he was treated "just disrespectful" by town inspector

At the start of petitions and public input, Jeremy Lancaster, who said he is an assistant store manager at Tractor Supply and a Rangely resident, described an encounter with a town inspector over permitting that he said was confrontational and threatened store operations.
"The way she treated me was plum out, just disrespectful," Lancaster said, detailing that the inspector questioned staff about permits they did not handle and left the store abruptly. Lancaster said his team had a written paper they had been given that day indicating propane sales were approved and that he and corporate representatives had already contacted district managers and AmeriGas about the matter.
Council members responded that they were concerned about customer service and asked Lancaster to put the complaint in writing for the town manager to address. The mayor said that when complaints are documented and submitted to town management they can be investigated and resolved. "If you would write the things down... then please give that to the town manager," the chair said.
The council requested follow-up to ensure both sides are heard and any corrective action is considered; no formal disciplinary action or enforcement change was taken during the meeting.
