Hunt summarized the planning process, vision statement and community goals and explained how the plan supports grant eligibility for passive-park and tourism funding.
Hunt walked the commission through specific design components — a 10-foot mixed-use asphalt trail with a designated bike lane, increased paved and mowed trail connectivity, expanded accessible parking near playgrounds, and additional shade/pavilion areas. She stressed phased implementation and engineering steps (soil borings, stormwater design) before construction. "If all goes well today, you'd be making a recommendation on moving this forward to village board," Hunt said. The team said a final report with firm timelines and cost details will be distributed in one to two weeks for the village board packet.
