Neighbors, Halter Wildlife and Uline conditionally support Inspire Prairie Springs apartments, ask for buffers

Speakers representing Halter Wildlife Inc., Des Plaines Wetlands Conservancy and Uline read a joint letter urging the village to require protections for adjacent hunting, game-farm and conservation uses before approving the Inspire Prairie Springs apartment project. The letter said the property owners "support and recognize the need to bring a variety of new residential housing types to the community" but requested setbacks, physical barriers and lease disclosures so future apartment tenants are aware of nearby hunting and shooting activities.
Wilbur Warren, who read the letter into the record, said the organizations "support the apartment project, however, our support for the apartment project is conditioned upon the needed protections as presented in this letter." Phil Hunt of Uline told trustees he and the company are working with staff and the property owner and urged the board to make items in the letter a condition of future approvals so issues are documented, signed and resolved before the project proceeds.
