The Plan Commission voted to approve Plan Commission Resolution 24‑18, which amends the village comprehensive land use map for areas associated with the Highland Estates subdivision.
Staff explained that the amendment corresponds to changes approved in the master conceptual plan and will place Lots 1–108 and associated outlots into the appropriate land use districts (upper medium density residential and park/recreation/open space where applicable). Rob said the comp plan map updates and neighborhood plan revisions were previously considered in 2023 and are now being finalized in conjunction with the final plat.
The motion to approve Resolution 24‑18 was made, seconded and approved on the record; when the chair asked for opposition one speaker said "Yes" but the transcript does not show that speaker's name. The record therefore reflects at least one opposed vote; the resolution nonetheless passed.
This amendment is procedural and tied to the final plat approval; implementation steps include updating comp plan maps and filing related ordinance updates following final plat recordation.
