Taylor officials hold Junior League World Series draw, say tournament will run Aug. 8–16

Staff ran the official draw for the 2026 Junior League World Series during the City Council meeting and reviewed the tournament schedule and bracket rules. "Under the direction of Little League headquarters in Williamsport, we are conducting the draw for the 20 26 JLWS," the staff member said, explaining a 12-team field (six U.S. teams and six international teams) and how byes were assigned.
Council members and staff told the audience Taylor will host the JLWS opening ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 8, with games beginning Sunday, Aug. 9, and the championship scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16. The staff member noted Heritage Park will again host the district tournament and that television coverage will be available: "you'll be able to see every game on ESPN plus." Council members encouraged residents to attend and help welcome visiting teams.
