Planning commission recommends approval for Chick‑fil‑A planned development

The Hartland Township Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the final planned development (PD) site plan for Chick‑fil‑A (SPPD26‑003) at the former Big Boy site on the north side of M‑59.
Township planner Troy described the PD process and said the applicant had completed conceptual and preliminary stages; at the final stage the commission reviews the PD agreement, easements and any remaining site-plan details. Commissioners asked about easement progress from Roy Roby Road and Hartland Road and whether requested directional signage had been added. Staff and the applicant's representative said easement drafting was nearly complete and directional signage had been added to the plans.
A motion to recommend approval of site plan application SPPD26‑003 as outlined in the staff memorandum dated 02/05/2026 was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
