Superintendent reports progress on classrooms, labs and air-conditioning projects

Superintendent Dr. Shealy told trustees that construction projects across the district are nearing completion in places and that crews are working through the weekend to finish science labs and other punch-list items. "LOJ Middle School is moving along nicely," she said, and described framed classroom walls, electrical rough-in and other progress.
She said retrofits to bring air conditioning online were completed at Palisades, Westridge, Houghton and Oak Creek and that staff saw cold air flowing in those buildings this morning. Lake Grove and Hills remain without full AC; administrators said they will continue to monitor conditions and explore options to provide cool spaces for staff and students while final work continues.
