At the meeting the clerk opened bids for Item 9 (25Dash0134), an invitation for bids for a nonexclusive easement across city parcels to allow installation and maintenance of electric lines and lighting to serve 187 Hall Road. The clerk read a cover letter dated May 6 from Dominion Energy Virginia (Kate Blanton, right-of-way agent) submitting a $1 bid and describing two 15-foot easement areas across identified tax parcels and a legal description of the parcels involved.
The clerk read that Dominion intends to install primary underground power lines across the city-owned parcels and the property at 187 Hall Road to feed a new underground pad-mounted transformer that will provide service to new residents at the address. City staff will review the single bid and return recommendations at a public hearing scheduled for May 28, 2025.
