Jackson County adopts FY26-27 appropriations and routine fiscal resolutions

Auditor Lisa Smith presented the board with year-start business and a series of routine fiscal resolutions for fiscal year 2026-27. The board approved minutes from June 23 and then adopted Resolution 1194-06-30-2026 setting departmental appropriations for FY26-27, along with multiple companion resolutions designating bank depositories, allowing the auditor to issue certain routine warrants (as amended to include Drug Free Coalition grant expenses), and authorizing interfund operating transfers to the secondary roads fund.
Board members voiced no objections to the routine package; motions were made and carried by voice vote on each resolution. The auditor noted the county posts resolutions on the website and keeps the records searchable for public review. Supervisors requested staff continue to circulate fiscal documents and flagged that some future costs (DOT apron-share estimates) will be incorporated into FY28 budgeting.
