Board members and neighbors questioned the proposed curb turnout areas, teacher and visitor parking, and the risks to existing trees if sidewalk and utility work proceeds. Vandenberg said the design team held frequent outreach meetings with neighbors and that the project will go through the City of Lake Oswego’s design review process; an arborist report and city conditions are included in the land‑use application to address tree‑health concerns. The presentation highlighted design features including an innovation lab, two‑story learning wing, daylighting strategies and flexible learning areas.
