The Weathersfield Selectboard voted unanimously to accept the voluntary resignation of Town Manager Brandon Gulnick and agreed to a shortened notice period that establishes Aug. 14, 2026, as his final day of employment.
Mike Todd read the written resignation agreement into the record, noting that “the employee has submitted his resignation and has requested that his final day of employment be August 14th, 2026,” and that the board and Mr. Gulnick had mutually agreed to waive the 90‑day notice required by the employment contract dated May 26, 2026. The agreement also states the manager will assist with an orderly transition and that no severance is owed.
The board entered executive session at 7:17 p.m. under 1 V.S.A. § 313(a)(1)(A) to discuss the town manager contract and returned to open session at 8:05 p.m., after which Mrs. Bearse moved to accept the agreement; Ms. Henderson seconded and the motion passed with all in favor. The board also tabled the agenda item to appoint an interim town manager to a future meeting.
Why it matters: the town will need to arrange day‑to‑day management and a transition plan before the manager’s last day. The Selectboard did not name an interim manager at the meeting and did not authorize severance payments; those items will be decided at a later date.
