Police report shooting under investigation; city schedules two public hearings

At the June 17 meeting Police Chief Canady reported a recent shooting in town that resulted in minor injuries; Canady said the weapon and a suspect were located and that the Grant County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
City Planner Kovach reminded the council and public of two upcoming hearings: a Soap Lake Cliff Development hearing at the Senior Center on June 24 at 5:00 p.m., and a periodic update to the comprehensive plan scheduled for June 25 at 3:00 p.m., also at the Senior Center. Kovach also answered a question about the Purple Sage Development, saying the city is waiting on a response from the developer.
Public Works Director Olson provided a brief update on infrastructure projects including work on the dog park, irrigation along Main Street and gate and fencing work at the RV park.
