Council discusses simplifying vendor license process and removing solicitors code

Councilmember Carson said the process for special-event coordinators and local businesses should be clarified and streamlined so potential vendors better understand requirements and can more easily participate in events. She volunteered to draft an application for council consideration at the next meeting.
Separately, the city attorney said he will draft an ordinance to remove the solicitors license section from the Soap Lake Municipal Code. No formal ordinance was introduced during the meeting; council direction was to return the draft ordinance for consideration at a future meeting.
