The Soap Lake City Council on June 17 unanimously approved a resolution declaring a gate surplus and authorizing its transfer to Soap Lake Natural Spa & Resort LLC.
Public Works Director Olson told the council the gate was not purchased by the city but was acquired when the city took the RV Park back from the resort; Olson added the gate never functioned properly and was missing parts when initially shipped. The council approved the resolution, numbered 2026-1043.
Council did not discuss any further financial implications or follow-up repairs at the meeting.
