Supervisors approve deputy auditor appointment, engineering technician pay increase and Veterans Affairs appointment

At its July 14 meeting the Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved several personnel actions. The Board authorized the certificate of appointment for Nicole Strathman as 2nd Deputy Auditor effective July 1, 2026 through January 1, 2029. Motion by Supervisor Nin Flagel; second by Supervisor Mike Steines; vote was unanimous.
Separately, the Board approved increasing Senior Engineering Technician David Chaplin’s hourly rate to $31.56 effective July 26, 2026, with the Auditor authorized to issue bi-weekly paychecks. The Board also approved the Veterans Affairs Commission recommendation to appoint Michelle Roling as a Veterans Affairs Commissioner effective July 14, 2026 through June 30, 2029. All motions carried with aye votes recorded from Supervisors Schwenker, Steines and Flagel.
