Angelique Schenck, interim budget manager, presented proposed administrative and revenue amendments that together would add roughly $1.2 million to the FY26 plan and allow restoration of previously cut community violence prevention funding and a larger employee wage increase.
"We are expecting, approximately 750,000 in additional revenue that was not accounted for in the manager's recommended budget," Schenck said, explaining that two major development projects produced supplemental assessment value not present at the preliminary estimate. She added staff expect the schools to increase reimbursables by about $504,000, bringing the two sources combined to approximately $1.2 million.
City Manager Bunting said the revenue is largely one‑time and should not be seen as a recurring funding source, but that it allows the city to restore SAFER/community violence prevention activities and increase the general wage adjustment from 3.5% to 4% for city staff. Schenck described administrative moves that have no net budget impact and said staff will prepare the necessary documents for council to consider at the evening budget adoption vote.
