Riche described the program as a targeted public-health intervention and said the city will report back on monitoring results, expected in about two months. "So a total of 12 containers were released over the next 36 days. We'll see how far they fly," he said, noting the program aims to lower nuisance and vector risk while relying on non-biting sterile males to reduce reproduction. The council expressed interest and noted resident complaints about mosquitoes.
