Mission Viejo honors two youth softball teams for regional and SoCal championships

Certificates from local and regional elected representatives — including ones signed by Congresswoman Young Kim — were presented to coaches and players.
Head coach Jesse Matlock thanked the city for parks and fields and credited families and volunteers for the teams' success. "Thank you for providing all the wonderful parks and fields that we have access to," Matlock said. Regional representatives in the audience — including Kim Carr and Sahil Shah, who read congratulatory certificates on behalf of state legislators — praised the athletes for their dedication and teamwork.
The council posed for group photos and presented certificates to individual players and coaches. The recognition was ceremonial; no action items followed.
