The board considered several maintenance contracts and estimates at its Feb. 18 meeting. Vice Chair Brandon Geyen moved to accept Schmitz Excavating's proposal of equipment rates; Supervisor Ryan Nelson seconded and Supervisor Andy Christensen abstained; the motion carried 3-0. The board also discussed a KRIS Engineering plow-edge quote and decided not to order extra plow edges at this time.
Later in the maintenance sequence, the board approved Bjorklund Companies' gravel hauling quote (motion by Geyen, second by Nelson, carried 4-0) and accepted Central MN Dust Controls' estimate for dust control (motion by Geyen, second by Nelson, carried 4-0). A Moore Engineering proposal was postponed until the next meeting. Chairman Mike Helman moved to approve up to $150 for the maintenance meeting; Vice Chair Geyen seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
