The Soap Lake City Council accepted the consent agenda on May 20 and heard brief reports from police, volunteer code enforcement, public works and planning staff.
The consent agenda included the May 5 regular meeting minutes and claims totaling $153,010.56 (claims #27978-28017 and EFTs). Police Chief Canady reported an arrest carried out with the Moses Lake Street Crimes Unit and that the department's Internal Affairs manual had been updated. Volunteer Code Enforcement "Ross" reported 59 dog licenses issued, one chicken coop inspected and five parcels identified as repeat offenders.
Public Works Director Olson said irrigation along Main Street should be working by Friday, a gate will be installed at West Beach and new tables were placed at the RV Park because older ones were beyond repair; the street sweeper required parts that have been ordered. City Planner Kovach outlined upcoming public hearings: June 1 at 10 a.m. for the FFA Land Lab conditional-use hearing, June 24 at 5 p.m. for a preliminary plat on a five-phase subdivision, and a periodic-update workshop on June 25 at 3 p.m.
The council adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
