Councilmember Bryson moved the motion, Councilmember Carson seconded, and the measure passed unanimously. Ms. Woodhouse, speaking for event organizers, said coordinating the soap box derby, fireworks and parade delayed completion of the permit but that "all the events are a 'go' and the permit will be submitted to City Hall." The permit was approved with the condition that department heads sign off prior to finalization.
City staff will confirm departmental approvals and post the finalized permit once administrative sign-offs are complete.
