Councilmembers and staff discussed operational changes at the Soap Lake RV Park, including hiring a camp host, updating signage and installing an automatic gate.
Mayor Peter Sharp said he will provide renderings for new signage and will advertise the camp-host position. Public Works Director Olson reported the reservation system is running smoothly and said an automatic gate should help with incoming traffic. City Attorney Norton was asked to draft a camp-host contract offering a $500-per-month stipend; the council agreed that once the contract is approved it may be advertised.
Public Works also noted new picnic tables were installed because previous tables were beyond repair. The council did not take final action on installation timing for the gate but directed staff to develop the contract and signage plans for return to council.
