FFA students present Land Lab proposal to Soap Lake council

Three Soap Lake FFA students presented a proposal on May 20 for a Land Lab to support agricultural and horticultural learning.
The students described intended uses, responsibilities and maintenance needs for the site, saying animal housing for goats, sheep and chickens would be used "from April through August only." They also described potential greenhouse space for plant experiments. City Planner Kovach announced a public hearing on the conditional land use application for June 1 at 10 a.m. at the Senior Center.
The presentation received applause from the council. The June 1 public hearing will give the community an opportunity to comment on the conditional land use request and proposed operational limits for the Land Lab.
