Groundskeeper reports quiet season, groundhog removals and planned maintenance

Joe Mangan, the commission's staff member, reported that cemetery activity has been light and that a stone repair in the Village Cemetery is planned for the fall. Due to dry conditions, crews have reduced weed‑wacking in some areas and have no additional work scheduled for the rest of the year.
On pest control, staff noted payment to Peter Flood for groundhog removal: four animals removed from Village Cemetery and two from East Hill. "He got four out of Village and two out of of East Hill," Joe Mangan said; commissioners observed the contractor had already picked up his traps and that groundhog removal may become an annual expense.
