Council accepts WFRC grant and directs staff to proceed with parks master plan

Adam Olsen told the council that Midvale secured a Transportation and Land Use Connection (TLC) grant administered by the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) to prepare a Parks and Open Space Master Plan and Impact Fee Facilities Plan (IFFP). WFRC will disburse grant funds as benchmarks are met, and the city’s required match is roughly $40,000, which staff said has been carried in the FY24/FY25 budget.
Olsen said the scope includes existing-conditions analysis, a future-demand assessment, park classifications, implementation steps and the IFFP required for any future parks impact fee consideration. The City Council voted unanimously to approve Resolution No. 2024-R-54 authorizing the mayor to execute the WFRC consultant agreement.
